I am so excited to tell you that i am hosting an Anne of Green Gables movie night, October 12th!

i picture it with quilts, cobbler and wildflowers everywhere.
Maybe a garland or two.
and lots of smiling faces reliving their childhood!!

The movies aren't completely accurate but are pretty great.

I've been tooooooooootally slacking on working out.
as in, haven't done it at all.
remember when i rode the kids to the Y in the bike trailer everyday for two weeks and lost ten pounds?
that. was. awesome.
now granted, i have other children here now so i have less time to just ride for hours, but still.
We need to get the bikes fixed before i turn into a giant fluffy marshmallow woman, bleck!
I've been trying to eat better in an effort to counter the lack of exercise.
today's lunch:


we've been trying to hit the park/library as much as we can since Fun Fridays have taken a hit thanks to cleaning on the weekends. Emory watched Leland the whole time- while she was swinging she kept twisting her little head around trying to follow him climbing and exploring.






this past weekend was filled with some great fellowship, learning and encouragement.
i sang with some awesome ladies for the Women's Spa day at Cornerstone and got to stay the whole day for pampering and a Beth Moore study on loving well. It was really really good.
Sunday our sermon at Copper Creek was about entering into God's presence through humility and confession- something that's difficult if you aren't spending quality time seeking Him daily. we were challenged to commit to a daily devotion time or deepening and time we already spend, so we can know Him.
Joel had his big Worship ministry meeting on Sunday afternoon which was well attended and focused mostly on preparing our hearts to worship and being in God's presence ourself before trying to bring others to His throne through music & song.
Then again last night at small group we were challenged to live seeking to KNOW God, to keeping running after Him instead of getting caught up in trying to handle our lives on our own.
Joel and i have been striving (personally and together) to spend time in His word everyday, praying and listening for His leading.
Sunday night we were trying to read a book about Paul together and kept arguing about nothing instead of starting it.
It was quite a doozy of a nonsensical fight- When we finally straightened ourselves out(which took quite a while), apologized and got to it, the last paragraph of the chapter said this:
"God wants to amaze us with the wisdom of His Word. He wants to blow our minds and widen our vision! He wants to show us how relevant He is..... Think of how many times you picked up your Bible and were interrupted, distracted. How often when you attend a worship service are you distracted while preparing to go, on the way, or at the service? Does your annoyance become anger directed at a child, spouse or friend? Our anger needs to be directed at the source. When you desire to study God's word, Satan will do everything to distract. Ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to recognize the source of your distractions and to channel your anger where it belongs- toward the evil one."

It been wonderful to see how God is moving through His Word and His people, in our daily lives.
So, here's your encouragement to get deep into His word this week. To seek to know Him!
i'm a better mom, wife and friend when i'm walking closely to Him, listening intently for His leading.
