looking back at my post from yesterday i realize it may have seemed a bit random... pictures of baking and inspiring spiritual photos.
At small group this week we talked a little bit about things that pull on your heartstrings for God.
You know, things that just help you come close to Him or focus in on Him.
For me one of those things is baking.
The comfort, colors, smells, and finally the warm perfect payoff at the end just remind me that God is good. Good Creator, Good Provider and Good Comforter.so there is my explanation of the random combo :O)
also,
Cemeteries.

seems a bit strange, i know. but i love them.
sometimes i just drive through them and read the headstones, while the kids sleep in the back.
I prefer to walk through but it's hard to get a 1 & 3 year old to understand the solemnness of such a trip.
I love the history, the stillness, the beauty.
The reminder of our humanity, our frailty, our purpose and our legacy (or possible lack of one).
i love the names, the love and respect.
I leave feeling focused, thankful and calm.
days like today, when there is a breeze, soft sunshine and leaves on the ground.
siiiiiiiiiiiiigh, i just want to lay in the yard and read.

so many books to catch up on and finish, but today i'm longing for extended study in the Word.
more responsibilities are on the horizon and now more than ever i need to be diligent at housework, organization and planning.
I wish those things were easy for me, but sooner rather than later i will defeat my lack of discipline & motivation.
I'm going to pray through it.
Much like other things, i know God is big enough to change this part of me, even if i'm not.
so we go.
off to feed the kids lunch, put 3 down for nap, read library books with one, finish dishes, a quilt, and fold a MONUMENTAL pile of laundry. would be nice if it looked like this:

beautiful.
i yearn to be more disciplined.
thanks for this, love!
I love cemetaries! Not in any hurry to stay in one, but i love the beauty and serenity that is found there.. and the History.. oh my!!! Such love is found on some tombstones forever engraved to share with the world.. if only we could love like that when we are able to let others feel our love!
