Isn't it amazing how God blesses us when we give him glory? You are all such an encouragement to me!
okay, i'm going to warn you, this will be an image heavy post. I just can't leave out some of these pictures!! There were so many wonderful friends and family that came out in the smoldering, liquid heat! But most of the pics will be of Rory. Sorry! :oD
with out further adieu,
The Cakes:
The little turquoise cake was just for Emory, and unfortunately started to melt in the heat by the time we did pictures.
The big cupcake was for everyone else and the fondant and thicker buttercream on it did better with the heat.
My mother, the cake master, made the cakes to my specs and i made the butterflies out of paper, like the garland.
they turned out just the way i wanted them!! Whimsey and girly with a modern feel.
thank you Momma! They tasted super yummy as well.
the wind picked up right when we started singing happy birthday and a butterfly flew right to Emory- she loved it!
she was bouncing and smiling the whole time we sang to her:O)
drinks/party favors/food/picture garland
The picture garland spanned from Emory in the hospital being born to birthday morning eating her donut. It went all around the tent and then along the side of the car port. I'm hanging it in her room now! she loves looking at it.
i made chicken salad (with noodles and grapes- sounds weird but SUPER good), tuna salad, and pb & rhubarb jam sanwiches cut into butterfly and flower shapes, Jillie brought a veggie platter, annie brought watermelon and Janet made her mouth watering brownie bites with creamcheese filling and strawberries and her yummy minny peacan pie bites. YUM.
Jess brought lemonade which was GREAT because it was so hot that no one was drinking tea, besides the bottled green tea over ice.
the party favors were sidewalk chalk, bubbles, playdough, and snacks. they went over well after i remembered to give them out!
General cuteness:
destroying the cake and opening presents:
thank you to everyone who made this day so much fun and a special thanks to ANNIE who saved me from the title of worst mom ever by letting me use her camera!
so thankful for my sweet happy healthy baby (big!) girl :O)
