lately my mind is like my house....

chaotic and disorganized.
i hate that!
there are just too many things going on, and i'm just trying to keep my head above the water.
i promise the next post will not be the least complainy and will either be light and airy or deep and encouraging.
today i just need to share the nonsense.

Last friday Joel's great uncle Len passed away.
Most people don't have a close relationship with their great aunt and uncle but Len and Irene have been like grandparent's to Joel and his siblings. This was something we knew was coming and was a blessing because of his deteriorating condition but still hard to handle because of how close the family is and the strain of losing part of your heart.
Irene and Len had been married 54 years and were the picture of a loving, committed marriage. They were also the example of a hysterical dynamic, because Uncle Len was such a character. They have done all sorts of marvelous adventurous things together and raised 3 wonderful children.

We made the trip to KY for the visitation and funeral and were so blessed by the time we were able to spend as a family.
Joel had to take off work one day, we spent lots of time driving with kids and got behind on things back home, but it was entirely worth it.

This Sunday is Joel's first sunday leading worship at Copper Creek as the Interim Worship Leader.
Tomorrow is Emory's first birthday, and saturday is her party.
next weekend is Father's Day and also Joel's parent's 40th wedding anniversary, which Joel and I are throwing them a surprise party for on the 27th.
I have 3-4 sewing projects to start/complete, a house to clean, a trip to unpack from, money to come up with for an AWESOME anniversary present for my husband (this July is 6 years), a present to make for Letty's first birthday party (also on the 27th).

i need to sit and make lists and start checking things off as i go, but between taking care of the kids (we have sweet cousin Cash today) and trying to get invites out for the surprise party, writing down the information i need from the Well Trained Mind before i have to return it (today), and trying to get last minute (which equals all) planning/decorating done for Emory's party, i'm having a hard time concentrating.

Leland is on my last nerve and i just need a quite place where no one can touch me or talk to me for 10 minutes.

okay. rant is over.
i'm going to channel the peace and relaxation i felt in these pictures.

We always try to stop at West Baden Springs/French Lick Indiana on our way home from KY. On our honeymoon we stayed at a little Bed and Breakfast in West Baden because it was close to Holiday World. From our room we could see this amazing dome in the distance and had to find out what it was. We ended up on a tour of the West Baden Springs Hotel which was in disrepair but still majestic and awe inspiring.
a few years later we came back with friends and it was in the beginning stages of reopening as a hotel. There is so much history and beauty in this place. It makes me think of the set of a movie; i can just imagine myself there in the 20's, walking the grounds, bathing in the mineral baths and socializing in the bowling alley. If you ever get a chance to stop by there or stay for a while DO!! Eventually we will get to stay for a night and it will be magical:O)

alrighty.
since blogging is the last thing in the world i should be doing right now, i'm out of here.
pray that i will suddenly become a type A, super organized, self disciplined and motivated super-woman.
it's gonna take a miracle.

love

I bet you already have tons of items crossed off of your list! I'm certain you will make it all happen.

I'll be praying that you can get organized, I know the feelings when things are all messy :/. You can do it tho!
