it has been a crazy crazy crazy week, and it's only going to get crazier.
i have been taking the kids out riding everyday this week and tonight i feel like i'm gonna die.
monday was just a short ride about the neighborhood but Tues Wed and Thursday we rode up to the YMCA, swam, and rode back. (and by swam i mean i held emory while she kicked and splashed and tried to pry Leland off of me so he would attempt to swim)
Emory has a love/love relationship with the water, Leland a love/hate relationship. He really wants to swim but he's not had very much experience with pools so he's super clingy. By today he was jumping in if i held his hand and held on to a noodle and kicked around by himself with out my hand for assistance.
He says he swims like a turtle (head up out of the water) and he's proud of it;o)
so the grand total distance of the trip is a bit over 5 miles. it doesn't sound like much but pulling about 60 lbs (both kids plus trailer and bags with towels and clothes etc) it's quite the haul. Plus the wind yesterday was tormenting me.
here are my pro's and con's thus far:
Cons:
-being sore
-bugs hitting me in the forehead or eye, bugs flying in my nose or mouth, or down my shirt
-the ENORMOUS, BLACK, FAST, SNAKE that was on the path and scared me to death
-the insanity of trying to get the kids showered and clothes for the ride home by myself with out having anywhere to set Emory down other than the locker room floor, as she likes to dive off everything.
-messing with nap times, all though Rory's done really well with that.
-the giant hill that taunts me right before we get to the Y.
Pros:
-i've lost ****9**** pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-I've lost ****9**** pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (aforementioned victory)
-being out in the fresh air
-getting some sun
-the kids love it
-even though i don't really see a difference, i feel better (other than the soreness today)
so that's that. I'm still eating pretty well, 2/3 fruit and veggies isn't as hard as it seems if you keep that ratio when you are grocery shopping.
lunch today:

i won't lie, i had a peanut butter sandwich along with that:O)
i did fall off the wagon a bit when i made Rhubarb Strawberry Twist-top pie. but it was soooooooooooo goooooooooooooood.
i found rhubarb at the regular old grocery store and treated myself to just one big stalk.
yum.
tomorrow has a few tricks up its sleeves. we could really use prayers during the morning as Joel has a meeting that could change things significantly for us. Then the fellas ( Owen Pye and the Sunday School Band) are out of state all weekend sowing seeds and playing melodic tunes, so we will be missing daddy big time.
We DO get to spend friday and saturday with Aunt Dill, so that will be exciting:O)
Tuesday we fly out to AZ for the big wedding so i will be trying to get details and packing started this weekend as well.
*and* i have lots of sewing to catch up on, finish before we go.
so yes, it's crazy.... and i would so appreciate your prayers that i make it through with patience for the kids and a little bit of sanity left.
what are your weekend plans?
