So happy. I wish i had time to take a nap outside under the trees.
running, believe it or not, went really well last night.
i pushed Emory in the stroller and did week one day one of the couch to 5k program.
Joel pulled leland on the bike and did laps around me, but i didn't mind. it was more of a welcome distraction than a taunt:O)
i hated it. my legs hurt, my boobs hurt, my side hurt and i wanted to quit.
but miss emory was my little cheerleader and kept clapping for me after i ran. No joke, every time i got done with my jogging portion and started to walk again she gave me some claps and a huge smile.
i'm pretty sure that's the only reason i finished!
we made our way through the neighborhood to the park, let the kiddos play for a while and then walked back.
I felt great after the fact.
came home and hopped right into the van with the kids because we had to hit Target on the way to church to get a wedding present.
Joel stayed home because he was tired and wanted to do some writing.
we left the house a little bit after 5. driving into collinsville i thought, "we are actually going to be early for church! this is a GREAT day!"
no sooner had i thought this than the engine died.
that's right.
the. van. died.
right as i was going through the light, in the left lane, it wouldnt accelerate and then the power steering of course didn't work as i tried to quickly get in the right lane to pull off the road so that i wouldn't loose momentum and get hit. busy traffic honked and hated me as i pulled in the gas station, cut about 6 people off, straight into a handicap parking spot.
it was a miracle that i didn't get hit. and i mean that. (i guess it also helps that i didn't do anything idiotic)
anyway, got towed, father-in-law retrieved us, borrowed their car and made it to church.... at 7:15.
that's right. it starts at 6:30.
then i had to leave to run to Target to get the gift because it will be my only chance, and get back before it was over to get Leland. So i missed the class i wanted to be in and felt like a loser parent dropping my kid off for Awana so i could "shop".
don't know what's wrong with it. pray it was a cheap computer glitch.
on to today...
you'd never believe this sweet angel woke up again at 3am covered in you know what, would you? and then again this morning. she pleads the 5th.
Leland has learned lots about natural consequences today.
He kept bouncing on the couch near the newly folded laundry. I warned him if he knocked it all over i'd be upset.
i was getting bottles for the babies when i heard "i will fix it! it is not a mess! i will put this mess away, this one is my fault!"
i looked in to see him attempting to refold and stack Emory's sleepers.
He was very sorry and assured me there was no mess, he folded them and put them back:
then he dropped a vase that i told him not to play with (as he was putting it away) and it shattered everywhere.
luckily it wasn't a fancy important one.
oh well.
going to spend the night sewing and hopefully will get a workout in while the kids nap.
have a great day friends:O)

i'm so excited you're going to run with us! (i know, i said that yesterday, but I'm still excited.)
and I'm so sorry your van hates you.
sorry about the van :(
So proud of your new running adventure. The beginning is always rough, but hang in there, it gets better. The reality for me is I don't love to run, but I love how I feel when I finish. Good luck!
